(NewsNation) — Former President Donald Trump is in the thick of a daylong tour of North Carolina by speaking to victims of Hurricane Helene in Swannanoa, North Carolina, just east of Asheville.
Trump has been critical of the Biden administration’s response to Helene, echoing the complaints of some residents who have said they cannot communicate with FEMA relief workers.
The former president has also been accused of spreading misinformation about the administration’s response, such as clean-up crews avoiding so-called Republican-leaning areas. FEMA says that is not true.
Later Monday, Trump is set to hold a rally in Greenville, North Carolina before addressing the 11th Hour Faith Leaders Meeting.
