Cocktail of the week: Viajante87’s carajillo – recipe | The good mixer

-

There’s so much more to using coffee in cocktails than that ubiquitous late-night party serve, the espresso martini. Here, the rich, deep coffee notes and the hint of vanilla, among other botanicals, from one of Spain’s finest liqueurs make for a simple yet sophisticated drink for early autumn.

CarajilloServes 1

45ml brewed espresso, cooled
30ml Licor 43 Original
15ml cold brew coffee liqueur – we use Mr Black

Measure the liquids into a shaker filled with ice, hard shake, then strain into an ice-filled tumbler and serve.
