Delphi murders: Jury reaches no verdict on Friday

DELPHI, Ind. — After the case went to the jury Thursday afternoon, deliberations in the Richard Allen trial continued through Friday without a decision being reached.

After the jury heard closing arguments from both the prosecution and the defense on Thursday, the case went to the jury at 1:25 p.m. Allen has been charged with four counts of murder in relation to the February 2017 deaths of Abby Williams and Libby German.

Delphi murders: Case now in the hands of the jury

The jury resumed its deliberations at 9 a.m. on Friday and went until 4 p.m. The jury could deliberate longer than that if they so choose. With no verdict decided, deliberations are expected to resume at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

The jury will decide if Allen is guilty or not guilty. According to previous reports, the case could also end in a mistrial if the jury does not agree unanimously on its verdict.
