A man who allegedly stabbed another man to death in central Adelaide has been charged with murder.
Police say they responded to reports a 23-year-old man had been stabbed at an accommodation complex on Hindley Street in the Adelaide CBD just before 8pm on Friday.
The victim, later identified as Lewis Parkin, was found with life-threatening injuries and taken to hospital. He died shortly after.
The 42-year-old suspect, from St Marys, had fled by the time police arrived but was arrested shortly after near the River Torrens.
He was charged with murder and refused bail.
Police say the incident was not random and they believe the two men knew each other.
The 42-year-old accused man is due to appear before the Adelaide magistrates court on Monday.
